Homepage document type
The homepage (language node) is the frontpage of your website. It can receive traffic from any source and the purpose of the homepage is to provide navigation to your collection af landingpages that you wish your visitors to go to.
Having multiple homepages (language nodes) does typically mean you wish to present your website in multiple languages. If that is the case you can save a lot of time by copying an existing homepage with content and extensions, and then only amend translations.
